There are hundreds of products, services and ‘stuff’ on offer at The Gentlemen’s Expo. Every aisle you turn down, you’ll be sure to discover something new and something awesome. Here’s a short list of some items from brands that we are pretty excited about…

Hot Sox

We love love love the recent travel sock collection from Hot Sox. They keep raising the bar to help you raise their sock game. The artist collection from a few years back is still on point, as well. Looking forward to added to the stripes and dots of your current sock drawer? Look no further. Get a peek at what Hot Sox has been up to HERE.

Brave & Bearded

If you’ve ever wondered why some dude’s beards’ just look better than others – it may be products from B&B. They supply a whole host of barber shops with product, so you may have tried it already. They also have a pretty sick line of apparel.

Altorosto

You should never compromise on what you put on your feet, especially in the winter. Altorosto get this. Since forever, winter boot style has been function before fashion. Not anymore Gents. Take a look at some of these boots. Game changers. Canadian company HQ’d in Toronto.

Surmesur

If you haven’t figured it out yet, made-to-measure is the way to go. Surmesur know this and have been on the right side of this trend for a while. Locations are popping up all over Ontario and Quebec, but definitely come and see them at TGE2017. They are TGE vets, so the safe money is that they will have a specific offer just for you during TGE 2017. Get measured and get that custom shirt, suit or sport coat from some of the best in the business.

G Fox & Co Canada

Do you like watches? The Foxwood collection from G Fox & Co is simply stunning. Mixing leather, wood and other materials, these watches will turn heads. Be sure to put one on your wrist at #TGE2017. G Fox & Co also have a whole host of other offerings like sunglasses and snapbacks. People loved G Fox & Co last year at our event, so you know this year they will be bringing some great products and killer offers for the #TGE2017 crowd.

Parc City Boots

Parc City Boots were the talk of #TGE2016. Super cool shoes and boots, designed for Gents on the go. When you’re at #TGE2017, you must try on a pair. They are super comfy, stylish and I’m sure they will have proper deals for show fans. Honestly, these boots are stunning, hand-crafted in Portugal.

5 Places to Travel to Before You Die

borabora

Travel seems to always factor into people’s life plans. Whether it’s a fresh-out-of-college backpacking trip or a kick off to retirement, a need for adventure and experience is something most of us have in common. Since you might not be able to hit each and every must-see spot in the world, we’ve listed the top five places to get in before you die.

South African Safari

Okay, so this first selection is moreso what to do once you get where you’re going, but consider this: can you honestly go through the rest of your life without seeing elephants, lions and hyenas in their gorgeous natural habitat? The answer is no.

The Great Barrier Reef, Queensland, Australia

If you still haven’t learned how to swim, we recommend getting that done before visiting Australia’s Great Barrier Reef. The largest collection of coral reefs in the world spans over 1,400 miles and is the only place to get the scuba diving trip of your life.

Bora Bora, French Polynesiaborabora borabora

All those enviable Instagram posts of flawless beaches and luxurious huts overlooking crystal blue waters? They’re located in Bora Bora and are definitely a place that deserves to be seen with your own two eyes. You’ll think you’re living in a screensaver.

Taj Mahal, Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India

Seeing a marvel of architectural design is one thing. Finding it in a country that also boasts amazing food, culture and people is another. Come to see a centuries-old mausoleum that attracts 3 million visitors a year, stay for the realest Indian food you’ve ever had.

Highlands, Iceland

As amazing as ancient architecture is, sometimes it just can’t level up to nature’s beauty. The dazzling Northern Lights can be seen best from the highlands of Iceland and will be hard to forget for years to come.

Top 5 Discoveries at #TGE2016

7012t-52

One big takeaway from #TGE2016 is that we discover new things. Our audience tells us. Our vendors tell us. Our chefs tell us. Our celebrity guests tell us. It must be true. There are some killer products and awesome experiences that are here every year and we love them. But here’s a quick snapshot of some of the new items and experiences that rose to the top this year:

5) Jord – Wooden watches. Straight outta Missouri, these guys make some pretty badass watches. The wooden bracelets are stunning. Nothing like it. Get on our wrists!!!

4) The UCC Chef Battle – The Underground Chef Co do these battles on the regular, but this one was live inside The Gentlemen’s Expo. It’s chef vs chef with a secret ingredient thrown in to spice things up. A panel of culinary stars judge the battle and declare a victor. (For the record Chef Ted Reader won this time) Chef Joe Friday and Chef Mike Ward narrated the whole thing. It was crazy. It was a high energy and welcome addition to #TGE2016 and no doubt will be back next year.

3) Tenfed – This is a clothing company that is trying to make a difference. Kory and the crew offer up high quality tees and toques for a cause. Every Tenfed shirt sold helps feed 10 hungry children. Do you need any other reason to support this project?

2) We Are VR. Watching our audience experience VR for the first time was unreal. Slap on the headset and get transformed to another place. Gaming, movies and experiences are all next level now. The future of playing a game or watching a concert will blow your mind, as it did all weekend long at #TGE2016.

1) Parc City Boot Co. – These boots are unreal. They were flying off the shelves inside #TGE2016. Designed and hand-crafted in Portugal. We’re honoured that Parc City Boot Co were here and that our audience embraced them. Gentlemen of Toronto are savvy consumers and these boots have found a home.

Hope you like this list. What did you discover? Tell us in the comments so we can share the love.

gilmourandclark_shareCouple of beauties right here , I tell ya. How cool is this… Leafs Legends and two former Leafs captains will be joining us on Saturday, Nov 12 at #TGE2016. Joey Vendetta will host the ‘In Conversation’ segment plus both Legends will be available to mix and mingle and snap a couple pics with the crowd. See below for some memories from these two dynamic players…

If there is a player who inspires near-hysteria among the Leafs Nation, it is Doug Gilmour.  Selected by St. Louis in the seventh round, he eventually started in 1983 when the Blues’ depleted roster required a call-up.  Nicknamed ‘Killer’ for his intensity, Gilmour played like a man much larger. After five seasons and the 1987 Canada Cup tournament, the Blues traded Gilmour to Calgary.  That year, he was a star in the playoffs (22 points in 22 games) and the Flames won their sole Stanley Cup.  After three more seasons, he was traded to Toronto in the biggest deal in league history.  In his first full season, he earned 127 points, a Maple Leaf franchise record and still won the Frank Selke trophy for best defensive forward!  The Leafs made him captain in 1994, which he remained until he was traded to New Jersey in 1997.  He then bounced between Chicago, Buffalo and Montreal before returning to Toronto.  In 1656 games, he finished with 510 goals and 1092 assists for 1602 points.  Doug is currently the General Manager of the OHL’s Kingston Frontenacs.

Wendel Clark

Clark was drafted First overall by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 1985 NHL Entry Draft after spending his Junior career with his home Province Saskatoon Blades on the WHL.  Clark represented Canada in wendel-headshot-2the ’85 World Juniors winning Gold.  In his rookie season with the Leafs, Wendel made an immediate impact in the league and with Leafs Nation.  He scored 34 goals for 45 points and took on all comers racking up 227 penalty minutes.  His physical style of play and offensive talent built the foundation of a great career and later leading to Clark becoming the Captain of the storied Maple Leafs.  He led by example and was the one working the hardest, scoring the big goals and doing whatever was needed to win.  This style of play took its toll and at the young age of 33 he was forced into retirement due to back injuries.  In 793 career NHL games Clark recorded 564 points and 1690 Penalty Minutes playing for Toronto, Quebec, NY Islanders, Tampa Bay, Detroit & Chicago.  He currently resides with his family in Toronto and keeps busy as an Ambassador with the Leafs plus various charitable causes and has a restaurant chain and Meineke Car Care Centres.
